Cool. I tried looking at the ISS with my telescope today (-2.4 magnitude pass) I used the minimal magnification so that I could keep track of it. I was barely able to keep up while it was around it's highest point in the sky, but all I saw was a really bright light. How'd you manage to see it, and what magnification did you use? I'm sure that if I used a higher magnification I wouldn't be able to find and follow the ISS, if even that would let me see detail. My telescope is only like 4" btw.
When taking prime photos, "magnification" doesn't really make much sense as you'd be comparing the field of view in your eye with an image on the film/CCD of the camera. What does tell you how 'zoomed' in the image will be will be the focal length of the lens (which in this case is the telescope) which he's said was 4000mm.
