I think the smoke trails look like a jellyfish from the side.

Anyways, it's the coolest booster separation I've ever seen.

HE6 can lift 8.7 mT into geostationary transfer orbit from Carl Sagan Space Center (with about 70 kg of propellant remaining).

Is there any way of editing the configuration to allow for a launch abort tower on top of the stack to make manned launches more realistic? In multistage this is usually included as a BOOSTER stage. That way the faring will jettison to the side and the tower in the forward direction.

why not use a config that has no fairing and place a capsule with an abort stage on top of it?

TBH that would demmand overal internal logic change and either adding secondary LES config system or modyfing fairing system to add LES stage.

For now the only solution is either attaching LES stage to payload (UCD for example) or coding LES stage into payload.

If only for visuals you can just mesh LES stage and attach it as secondary payload and jettison it manually.

AFAIK Woo482 is working on capsule type spacecraft with integrated LES stage.

Ah ok. It is only for visual purposes really not to be functional. And nice job on creating this, you can easily config the launcher for just about any payloads you like  It's a lot of fun experimenting.

sounds like you've not installed it properly. Have you put the textures included in the addon pack into the textures folder?

- Are you sure it's installed properly (unzipped to orbiter folder with directory structure preserved)?

- Have you installed PayloadManager as written in manual and OHM page?

I'm pretty sure it works both in inline and d3d9 graphics clients.
What version of orbiter do you have?? Themis-A is for Orbiter 2010-P1 and if I remember correctly it haven't been tested in Orbiter Beta.

I have the textures in the right folder but in the scenarios the rocket itself is displayed cloaked in black

You're report is very undetailed.

I need to know more things:

1.) your orbiter version

2.) content of orbiter.log in the moment of error (best aproach is to launch it in window mode and opening the file with notepad - then pasting content here wrapped in code tags)

3.) screenshot - you say rocket is totally black - even with textures in wrong folder, rocket should appear light grey as that is default untextured material. (you can use forum's gallery)

4.) Do you have all reqired packets installed (Payload manager, .net 4 ??)

5.) what was method of your install? (have you unzipped in one take or moved files folder by folder, or maybe used some form of Mod enabler??)

6.) When error appears - while you load provided scenario or trying to spawn rocket in game using scenario editor??

I tried really strange things (even forcing rocket to spawn underground) to reproduce it but I cannot.

What was the resolution? The reason I ask is that it might be helpful to others that might stumble upon the same problem.

it appears that i have installed the D3D9 Client incorrectly, I was smart to install the client correctly.

I'm having a problem. Orbiter crashes to desktop while loading any Themis-A, either loading one in a scenario file or when spawned by the ScnEditer in sim. I have all the required addons, and other than them this is a clean install. I am using the inline client, though I'm not sure that relates to the problem. Orbiter log:

Hmm - tried hard but couldn't reproduce this bug in any way. The only thing close was missing payload manager but that gave me error message on CTD.
