I thought the Orbiter community would enjoy a source for excellent lectures regarding Technology, Entertainment, and Design (TED, get it?). It also has talks on global issues and science.

Two vids I recommend are one talking about global poverty, statistics, data mining and visual representation of information: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/hans_rosling_shows_the_best_stats_you_ve_ever_seen.html

the second is about one of the first computers:http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/george_dyson_at_the_birth_of_the_computer.html

Enjoy, Happy Learning! :)

EDIT: More awesome videos:
Burt Rutan on private spaceflight:

Some guy wrote a DNA complier to fold DNA into awesome shapes:

P.S. Not to derail the topic... but any news on that fascinating SSTO add-on you were posting about on M6 (the one appearing on your avatar)? ;)

Ah yes, TED. I pop in every few months to see what's new. Some fascinating videos on there. I particularly enjoyed the talks by Dan Dennett, VS Ramachandran, Arthur Benjamin, Richard Dawkins, Steven Pinker, Carolyn Porco and Martin Rees.
