Loading of cargo modules is proceeding ahead of schedule at this time. A scheduled 'day of rest' today will limit the amount of cargo modules docked today. The leak sensor that was replaced several days ago has been tested and is definitely defective. A replacement for the spare that took its place will be brought up on 1 of the XR5 flights tomorrow so that our spares store is at 100% before TJI.

All boards are green at this time.

Mission timeline is as follows:

• T+5 days through T+18 days A total of 18 XR5 flights (from 6 XR5s) will be performed from various spaceports around the globe to bring up cargo modules and fuel.
• T+20 days 2 XR5s will launch and dock with SSTV-01 and our 36 passengers will be welcomed aboard.
• T+21 days Final engineering checks will be performed and go/no-go decision made for TJI.
• T+22 days After several hours of calculations for a 100 day trip to Jupiter, the TJI burn will be performed using only the EHEs.

Actually, I'm just taking a short story I wrote back in 1990 and shoe horning the SSTV-01 into the story line. In the 'real world' the Lunar Station is still 'under construction' and the actual construction of the SSTV-01 probably won't happen for a while (I'll probably build the 'actual' SSTV-01 using IMS 2.0 to give you some idea how far in the future that is.)

And I did say that the SSTV's requirement was to be able to bring along enough cargo to BUILD a mini version of the Lunar Station at its destination. The mini-version of the Lunar Station is still a picture in my mind's eye, but it would have at least 1 of my monster hab rings, and enough nuclear reactors to power the starship Enterprise. As most of the mini Lunar Stations are located beyond the asteroid belt, they wouldn't have all those pretty solar arrays, but they will have LOTS of fuel tanks and lots of labs and other stuff for the inhabitants to play with.

And I've always wondered if I could come up with a script that would create all the BG modules and attach them to the SSTV's cargo hold. There's 17.5 XR5's worth of cargo holders there...

I'm wondering how well the SSTV would do inside the Earth's orbit... could it make it to Mercury?
