Space shuttle Constitution is on pad SLC-6 at VAFB and ready for its first flight to Skylab II. Launch is set for tomorrow Feb 13. Payloads for this flight are an airlock module that will alow the shuttle to dock to the station for this first mission, and a SpaceHAB Single Module. This mission is to do the first round of checkout and activation of the station that has been in orbit since early January. This will be the first time a crew will visit the station. This mission will be 16 days in duration as the crew will be moving equipment from the SpaceHAB module into the station and doing other set up tasks. At the end of docked activities, the crew will put skylab into an "untended" state untill the next shuttle visit in May. Once undocked the shuttle will return and land at VAFB.

UPDATE Feb 13:

Constitution has lifted off and is on its way to Skylab. Docking is projected to be in the evening of the 15th.

UPDATE Feb 15:

Constitution has docked with Skylab. The crew are getting settled in and progressing through the post ingress checklist smoothly.

UPDATE March 02:

Constitution has succesfuly landed at VAFB completing STS-SL1. Constitution will commence processing to get ready for its next mission in May.
