STS-130 Updates

Where is our promised HD footage, and exterior video, looking in to the station?
I can not wait for those, specially exterior video.

Another great image from Gizmodo.com!

"RRROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR"
Tie-fighter engine sound.

You know, I'm a little disappointed about the view from Cuploa. I think it's too much what I expected it to be.

With the new node, and observation deck, Poisk and Rassvet mini lab modules, and the new permanent Leonardo MPLM, now called a PMM going up next, and x2 permanent Soyuz'es docked we really need a new and updated Mike Fincke style one hour long HD tour of the ISS.

And is that new full scale (size of Zarya) Russian module (forgot the name) going to actually ever launch? I think they planed it for 2012. I -REALLY- hope that's still a go, we got a truly monstrous (in a good way) sized space station going on up there. Not quite the size of the original but extremely close. Ah, and I remembered the name of that module, it's or it will be called Nauka (Means knowledge or learning, I think. At least it sounds like it).

I know what you mean, an ocean view is impressive, for the first couple of weeks ,then it gets old.

Don't worry, Cupola has got more to give yet! ;)

It's coming soon!

I asked TJ Creamer if he would be doing any & he said that he would!

Me:
"When you get to ISS, will you be filming any HD tours for us? -Especially when Node 3 arrives!!!"

TJ:
" HD tours -- YOU BET! Is part of the plan already (& a requirement actually). BUT, can't wait to show you Node3 & the cupola!"

In the meantime, have you seen this HD ISS tour done by Mike Barratt back on Expedition 20?

(And FYI, Rassvet/MRM-1 hasn't been added to the ISS yet. It will be added on STS-132 in May/June this year). ;)

I found more fantastic Cupola images cleverly hidden away at the ESA Multimedia Gallery! :)
They can’t escape me! :P

Just taking a look at the 130 Landing Weather Forecast thread on NASAspaceflight.com.

KSC, EDW looks bad for Sunday.
KSC bad for Monday, EDW good (although winds are a concern)
This might become the 2nd White Sands Landing, but they'll only go there if there's absolutely no chance for KSC or EDW.

More info here.

NASA posted the Automated DOL PAD For STS-130 for 4 optional orbits and 2 landing sites.

The O-F's calendar event for landing is updated for deorbiting from orbit 217.

Those groundtracks can be also found on the NASA page I linked above, but I'm adding them here with added thumbnails:

To mods: Whenever Endeavour gets back in her OPF, could you guys de-pin this thread and put up my STS-131 thread? Thanks.

What was that "flame" from the top of the orbiter during landing?

The first time it was photographed from Space Station Cupola. Priceless :-)
