The crew of STS-126 have just finished the farewell ceremony & are now back in the shuttle.
Hatch closing between the ISS & the shuttle is now complete.

All cargo transfers were completed.
Sandy Magnus has remained on the ISS, & Greg Chamitoff is now inside the shuttle for return to Earth.

The STS-126 crew will now sleep.
STS-126 is scheduled to undock from the ISS tomorrow at @2.47pm GMT/UTC.

All mission objectives were completed successfully.

Here's today's SMG landing weather forecast for EOM Sunday. EDW and NOR look good with KSC have thunderstorms, precip and crosswinds as the concerns.
EOM+1 Monday is the same for EDW and NOR, but KSC still has concerns for crosswinds and ceilings.

Endeavour's time at the ISS have now come to an end and it's time to focus on landing. This is Orbit 1's last time on console for this mission so they're working their last shift right now. The Orbit 1 team will be replaced by the Entry team as tommorow and Sunday will focus on landing preps and actual de-orbit and landing.

And the KU radar is busted and has been declared hardfailed. Last time they had a KU radar failure was on STS-92/ISS3A in October 2000.
 
I just saw ISS and Endeavour flying by (and another strange pair of light points, crossing the way of ISS from south to north. Help! UFOs!) with binoculars I was able to see the two spacecraft as two lightpoints.
 
Yep, saw them too, at a cool -0.9 magnitutde. Almost looked as if there was only one light
 
Just saw it again, it was so cool! They were clearly visible, A bright light as ISS and a not so bright light as Endeavour. It's the firts time I saw a real space shuttle.
 
EOM day for STS-126. The strategy for entry today is to look at both KSC and EDW. Both are ready to support landing. They'll evaluate the weather at KSC first, if NO-GO for attempt 1 and the forecast for attempt 2 into KSC isn't much better they'll go for EDW which has a GO forecast.

So de-orbit burns for landing attempts are possible at:

KSC 1: 12:14 pm EST(1714 GMT)
KSC 2: 1:50 pm EST(1850 GMT)
EDW: 3:20 pm EST(2020 GMT)

Entry team now on console after taking over from the Orbit 3 team.

Latest SMG weather forecast now has ceilings, crosswinds, precip, thunderstorms within 30 NM of the SLF and turbulence below 100k ft as the concerns. That is valid for both opps into KSC today.

Forecast for EDW calls for very light winds and just a few clouds at 30k ft, very acceptable conditions.

Entry Flight Director Bryan Lunney is now getting the first weather briefing from the SMG, not much hope for KSC. EDW is looking good per the latest forecast.

Results of the weather briefing is that right now KSC is observed NO-GO and forecast NO-GO. EDW is observed GO and forecast GO.

Looks like Endeavours going to land at EDW today.
 
KSC 1 has been waved off due to crosswinds!
 
Aiming for KSC 2, but appears unlikely due to the front/ high crosswinds.

Next weather update is scheduled for top of the hour. Then Entry Flight Director Bryan Lunney will decide whether to close the payload bay doors for today's final KSC attempt. If the forecast hasn't changed by then, EDW will be the landing site.

KSC NO-GO! Continue with de-orbit preps but hold short. They'll make a decision on EDW later. This is to keep the crew out of the suits as long as possible.

Not KSC today. They have waved off both KSC attempts due to bad weather. Entry Flight Director Bryan Lunney has not yet made a decision to wave-off for 24 hrs in the hopes that KSC weather will improve or land at Edwards today.

I believe the next set of weather data is expected at the top of the hour.

Why are they being hesitant about Edwards? Just land that thing. Those folks have to be tired and wanting to see their families already.
 
The decision has been made. Lunney has decided to send Endeavour to Edwards.

Bryan Lunney wanted the latest weather data to make the decision. There always was the possibility that KSC weather could be better tommorow.

Landing is expected on RWY04L which is the 040° heading of the TEMP RWY.

1st opportunity - 9.25 pm
2nd opportunity - 11.00 pm
