More correct DM for STS 79. You see one solar panel assembly is removed.

Really could not get the DM in the sun.

Hi "gattispilot" ... even if I am around OF since quite long time I have to admit that I discover this post only recently following the "give up" of SSU ... and honestly I have to say that I lost a lot of "precious time" .... ehehehe
so I see that this project is around since quit some time now and a lot of work has been done by all of you genius guys...good work.
from where can i start?
are the links you provided at page 1 of this treat the links which are always kept updated ???
all files required will be there?
or are there many others "external addons" which must be "found" and " installed" BEFORE to install your addon?
in short ... can you please guide me to "how to install and run" this wonderful space shuttle ???
the graphics is really amazing.
thanks for any help.
cheers

Excellent questions. I think we are working on a new zip. Changes were made. The MIR stuff is in the works. Yes the zips on the first page should get you going. There is a list of addon. The addons are mainly for payloads,.....

I tried to download all zips files from your first post ... and I saw the pdf file with all addons required .... i am collecting all of them and i will try to install one after the other as you indicated in the pdf file --- but another question come into my mind: each external addons may or may not require many others addons to be installed before them ... so does it means that i need to install all 15 files you mentioned in the list AND all potential files lurking around necessary to run each of the your 15 files?
thanks for this clarification; I am impatient to jump into the space shuttle again .... ehehehe .... great job again.....

The simple answer is yes. Depending on the scenario. I would say the just fly the shuttle with out the HI-res. just the main files.

After more research. I need to redo the MEEP's. in real life the astronauts would attach the clamps to the docking station. go back and get a MEEP and attach and open.

In orbiter sure that is possible. But they are lot of things to deal with.

Once they eva they would need to get a handclamp and move to the DM and attach. Then move to the Meep and get them and attach.

In real life the hand clamps were stored in the space hab.

I am thinking an easier solution is to have the hand clamps part of the DM. Then all the eva has to do is go to the MEEP and bring it to the hand clamp.
Here you see the MEEP and carrier in BAY 11,12

different view of the same.

Redid the MEEP storage.
vJlicbJ.jpg

What I don't like is how the storage is lit but the MEEP case is not.
The storage is part of a vessel and the MEEP case are both attached?

So maybe That is way the material setting should be more glowing?
More info on the DM camera

It looks like to do this correctly in the airlock would need to be 2 guys with the clamps attached. For orbiter in their hands.
MvlT0Ij.jpg

Then you would go to the dm and put the clap on the dm.
rG8ynkk.jpg

and then go get the MEEP.
It is doable just not from launch. Meaning you would have a scn to start with guy made and clamps in hand
5DHjiDj.jpg

or just press key on the DM and the clamps appear. Then you would just get the MEEP and install

Any thoughts?

Lights. I know the max number of lights is 8. The shuttle has at least 8. 6 payload, rms, dock, forward bulkhead. Then if you throw in 2 eva,..... I am wondering if I should do like SF. I think it has 1 light control. The beacons would still be there. Any thoughts?

I looked at more images. Redoing the DM. It looks as the rails are square rather than round. I am adding the numbers to the rails. That helps to now which clamp and MEEP goes where.

Also looking at the RMS FRFG target. I can't find a diameter. I think it might be too large. This is the target on the DM where the RMS attaches. The one on the bottom. Just has a probe sticking out.

Also I found this image. Not sure what that is between the MEEP storage and aft wall?
Q5Fcj89.jpg

Also found this. This is for MEEP2.

EAch tile is 9.53 x9.53 cm. This is important because I can get a better size view.

I need to redo some scnearios as the wrong mesh is there.
From what I can tell STS 79 and STS86 have the same setup. Except STS86 has the MEEP holders. But now this device is mounted under the DM. It is a camera. I assume is was mounted somewhere on the shuttle.

The device tethered to the Dm is a solar Array cap
It was in the Space HAb
QuXEDzx.jpg

I think the scn will start with it attached to the shuttle and the eva guy will grab it and attach to the DM

These are from sts 86. You can see the MEEP stored and the storage case

Cr8K0tx.jpg

But look at the thermal cover. It look like the bottom half is rigid and the other top half can move.
I am redoing it for the Tunnel airlock
gAuD3x3.jpg

not sure what color the bottom side is.

I wonder what that thing by his foot was.

Not the DM power coupler.

STS86 with the Solar Array Cap being attached to the DM.
jkvZMWK.jpg

In sts 86 there were no solar panels attached to the DM
The start of the eva scn needs to be a new scn. Because one of the eva was a crew of MIR in a Nasa EVA suit,
