How can I activate the DG-S scramjets (red marked; not the main engines)?dg-s.jpg

Depends on the DG version. On the inner panel view, there are thrust levers etc. And I think you also have to open scram doors.

I turned the Scrams on, but they don't push me forward. I can't find a button in the inner panel view to open the scram doors.

DG version: DG-S (Orbiter's built-in version)

The levers are on the bottom-left, but I can't see a "open scram doors" button.

A small video (about 1 minute; in zip because OF doesn't allow me to attach .mp4) in attachments.

I think the scram doors are exclusive to the DG-XR1. You can see the button in the screenshot. If you haven't done so, I suggest you download this add-on for practicing.

Scram engines only work in a certain range of dynamic pressure. They won't do anything if your airspeed is zero before take-off. You have to activate them later, at the right speed and also stop them later at the right speed, while flying a very precise ascend. If you do it efficiently, you'll run out of scram fuel just before they overheat. Go read the XR Flight Operations Manual included in the doc folder of the add-on.

On the standard 2016 DG, Ctrl+ and Ctrl- (+/- on Numpad) allow you to control the scram throttle from the keyboard.

Ahh, now I understand

The CTRL Num + / - is the MAIN engine, not the SCRAMJET, standard DG has no scrams, DG-S has them.

thanks

Yes right but still, I'm sure there's a key combo that allows to control the scram throttle on DG-S. If it isn't Ctrl, try Alt.

Yes, Alt + Num+/Num- are working!
