Curious,,,, In my Shuttle Fleet 4.2 when I go to several of the "Shuttle in Orbit" scenarios I find that I cannot close the Shuttles Bay Doors. When I type Cntl-Space the Bay door controls are not available. When I type the shortcut "K" I just hear a clanking noise but the doors do not close. Whats up?
Thanks.

Make sure that the KU antena is stowed (CNTL U) and the RMS is stowed (CNTL X). And shuttle fleet dosn't have the door controls in the CNTL Space menu.

Ok, I did that. I stowed the KU and RMS. Then I hit K and nothing.

Check and verify SRMS is cradled in the MPMs. Then check and verify that SRMS and MPMs is are stowed. Then check and verify that Ku band antenna is stowed.

Then you should be able to close the PLBDs.

you have to stow and roll in the RMS. The details are in the manual.

That was the answer. I never read that before. Ctrl and hold down X. That rolled the RMS arm in. Thank you very much garyw.

This is why the Hubble missions expansion pack hasn't been released yet. I just can't seem to find the desire to work on the manual for the package, as it seems more and more as if no one bothers to read the freakin' manuals I write. They take longer than anything else, and I wonder why I bother when I see this type of "complaint" about the fleet.

David please dont feel that way. In my case Im new and have downloaded so many addons and Im trying to learn alot quickly. I have been overwhelmed with manuals to read. So I do miss some things. Your additions are Greatly appreciated.

And you'll get frustrated when you miss things. There is no such thing as "quick learning". it takes as long as it takes. This is one reason I tend to checklist the hell out of my missions.

NASA took the same concept with every thing it seems :)

Though I suspect they took a look at the manual once or twice before they made the checklist.

Try this and see if it might help out (it's what I wound up doing). I read throught the manual and took notes on a separate sheet of paper. When I got to a particular command I'd highlight it in the book ([CTRL]+=Antenna deploy/stow for instance) and write it down.
Then I'll wind up rearranging my notes to where they match where I am in a mission, for example... After a launch; the SRB's separate, you can tweak the align planes numbers while you make orbit, the ET separates and now you'll need to close the umbilical doors right? [CTRL]+[J]. [CTRL]+[G] isn't for another 3 paragraphs for when I'm on final.
It's still a work-in-progress, but now I've got a quick reference guidebook, so I can match the notebook pages to the craft I'm flying. It helps keep me straight. I had to learn to do this because after I'd read the manual, I'd know there was a command to do what I needed to do, but I couldn't find it... So now I've got a highlighted (and tabbed) manual, plus my own handwritten notes.

David, your work is fan-freakin'-tastic.
