(I still can't understand how a power failure can cause the train to simply derail and pile up in the tunnel)
It wasn't that.
There were construction works on this segment, and one still-unpowered track switch was not secured properly.
It moved itself to the diverging track, and a train going full speed was suddenly diverted sideways, flying off the track.

Alternative version is that a pair of wheels fell off one of the cars, jamming it to the same effect.

In any case, it looks like some sort of gross maintenance error.

Yet, as safety goes i can't remember any other lethal incident in the metro itself (not counting bombs). Only thing close is the escalator failure of 1982.
The system handles about 5 million passengers daily, and is considered to be very reliable.

EDIT: Damn, broken. I'll try it again...

EDIT II: MUCH better.

I'll never forget being in front of a dump and burn. Flame followed by the smell of kero.

In the midst of MH17, it seems that these days aren't the best on railway safety either - after the Moscow metro derailment (I still can't understand how a power failure can cause the train to simply derail and pile up in the tunnel) I just saw one news about a train crash in France....? :uhh:

About the train crash in France: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-28358137

....so a TGV train crashed onto a regional train on a normal speed track just after re-starting. Hmm.....

Started playing Enemy Front today, and have a couple of issues with it.

1) Gameplay feels a bit clunky.

2) Stealth isn't really *stealth*, it's just moving an extra ten feet before you have to Kelly's Heroes everyone.

3) Random German quips in English. Ten seconds ago you were speaking fluent German, what's going on Hans?

4) Out of place weapons. Seriously, an StG 44 in 1940 France?

Confirmed. Chris Hadfield is my favorite astronaut.

I recognised Aldrin and Nixon, miraculously, and couldn't tell between Collins and Armstrong. Bad with names, worse with faces. :P
