You know you visit too many japanese websites when your personalized advertisments are in japanese.

I dunno. Maybe it's relevant to the video's language.

I don't really visit a lot of Japanese websites.

Okay, so riddle me this: my 'personalised' ads seem to think I'm in dire need of a harem of local girls, and way to lose weight quickly in order to impress men, when all I do on the web is browse a couple forums (this and Bay12) and read a couple webcomics (xkcd, Wondermark, Homestuck.)

Think about how conducive those sites are to finding girls...I think google is trying to be your wingman xD

OOoohhhh, i'm so gonna spend my entire day watching the entire LoTR franchise...though, after that, i'll be watching all of the Harry Potter movies on tuesday. :shifty:

Please read, don't watch (unless you already have, in which case: screw it, why not?)

Harry Potter movies: Boring muggles > Exciting wizards!! > Obvious bad guy becomes more obviously the bad guy > Irrational adventuring > Optional sad death > Deus ex Machina > Happy ending. The books make it somehow more interesting.

The LotR movies are pretty good, but vastly understate and/or totally nerf some characters for the sake of adhering to the same damn formula every movie ever written adheres to making it more dramatic. In other words, the visuals are great, Imladris and Minas Tirith are wonderful to behold, and the plot is entirely predictable. Of course, the book suffers from some of the same issues, being old, copied, and generally cliche'd as hell these days, but its charm is in the depth and richness of its setting. (Also, The Hobbit is just so charming.)

" Direct the lives of a group of homicidal, alcoholic midgets."

The best description of Dwarf Fortress. Ever.

 That download speed is completely beyond my comprehension (my maximum is 12kB/s, average 500 B/s). You must be able to download anything in, like, minutes.

Could be worse...i had once 200b/s for 2 minutes...

Optical Fiber ?

I have it too, and on very good servers I'm not far from such speeds.

A revolution, makes Internet almost always "instant". The limit comes from your computer performance at this point.

I don't know. I just plug an Ethernet into my dorm room. Only two weeks left of this. :( Really though, such high speeds only come from torrents. (yay for seeders!) For most other downloads, speed gets limited by the host's end.
Maybe I should transfer universities. Austin is getting Google Fiber...
