The Dictatorship of The United States of Mojoey is a small, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its keen interest in outer space. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 40 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 41%, but much higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Beef-Based Agriculture, Book Publishing, and Gambling industries.

A dictator has seized power and outlawed elections, a punitive tax has been placed on harmful emissions, the nation's youth is held blameless for all crimes, and foreigners are treated with great suspicion. Crime is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The United States of Mojoey's national animal is the Black Bear, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Mojo.

The Black Bear meat is a little stringy, but when lathered in BBQ sauce and marinated in the Minority Party's tears, it is truly a delicacy!

I just found out that some Chinese names for western countries, while primarily chosen for phonetic similarity, also have literal meanings:
