I think the idea back then was to fire rockets with dark, dispersable powder over the hurricane, to cut it off from the sunlight, thus dissolving it.

I think Format Wars makes sense. I would have had ten thousand blu-ray disks flying around the frame, but due to budget and time constraints we couldn't do it.
Don't worry! I'm going to release a Special Edition with digitally enhanced effects. Afterwards, I'm going to attempt to wipe all original copies of the movie off the face of the earth. The best part is that even though fans of the original will hate me, I'll make tons of money!
