The authors of the answers are somewhere between comic and insane.

My housemate claims he walked around in the space suit of Apollo 13 astronaut Fred Haise. He has a job at Space Expo.

Edit: this page lists the spacesuit ID (A7L-061), but its location is not filled in. Interesting. So this spacesuit might be here in Noordwijk while nobody knows... I wonder how it came here.

Is the 10 in "base 10" a base 10 number? What if it is not?

I have it understood that base ten includes 1-9, and you start using repeated numerals starting with 10. Like in base 8, it's 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 20 and so on.

now why cant my PC handle a game thats about 20 years old, but handles this fine

Any have/played RAMA by Serria?

Random fact of the day: Earth's orbital velocity is approximately 15 picoparsecs/minute.

Probably because it's a DOS game and uses some feature of DOS that modern PC's aren't back compatible with. Have you tried DOSBox?

What game can it not handle?

elite II, which is a bit less than 20 years, but it struggles with other gfames like black hawk down, C+C renegade, but it does seem to love flight simulators?

Just set a slowest floppy driver record: 10 minutes for 13Kb file.
Worse, anyone?

You are still using floppy's? :P
Running a homebrewn OS in emulators is boring, making a CD/USB driver is a recipe for getting fired, so that leaves the floppy as the cheapest solution :)

You make 30 km/s seem fast, even relative to galactic standards......

Oops. I specified that badly. Orbital velocity in LEO is approximately 15 picoparsecs/minute. Earth itself is doing a bit under 60.

Howso?

Hmmm.... "Flying" has no lyrics... unless you're counting the "la la laaaa" stuff?

I suppose an instrumental song is very easy to sing!

Of course I am!
I would like to be able to sing "It's the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine)" by R.E.M. but with my pronunciation and accent it's awkward.

I wonder if this thread is not jut wasting bandwith.
