My laptop's hdd died in early December so I lost all the models and code for Prometheus...well actually, right now the dead hdd is hooked up to a live-boot Knoppix box and has been running dd_rescue since the first of January? Yea, and it's only maybe 40% done! :P
But back to Prometheus, because I just can't sit around waiting, I've just decided to re-code. There is something nice about starting from scratch, it allows you to correct mistakes that you made, and maybe just didn't want to go to the trouble of changing. For me, that primarily resides in the modeling/texturing. The model for Prometheus was ok, but there was considerable room for improvement, which I've implemented with this new model. For instance, the upperstage previously had 5 or more mesh groups, but I've been able to cut that down to 3 with most of the model being one group. There's some optimization to be done with the first stages, but those too will be much improved using parts that connect to each other instead of just being in proximity to each other.
I don't have a clue when release might be as I'm also a busy Computer Science student!
