PG&E makes deal for space solar power

I've been wondering when a company would pony-up and try this. If anyone is in the mood for a good read. Ben Bova's "PowerSat" has one of these in construction/operation.

Hmmm... My modelling skills are still in development (meaning I'm a noob), but maybe I could come up with something workable. IIRC, the powersat was a big solar collection grid, with a control center (for the fight scene) in the center. So a mesh shouldn't be too hard, put a docking port/attachment points.
If my wife will give me the time I may have a project this weekend.

It looks like my "honey-do" list is too long to do much this weekend (that isn't Orbiter related anyway). But I'll start sketching up something in my spare time.
