Petition to have Microsoft keep the FSX going.

Do petitions actually work?

After all, Pokémon fans must have signed over 9000 signatures to get Nintendo to make a GSC/Johto remake XD. And they still have not done it. XC

But I will sign it anyway.

I guess that 9000 is way too less. I've had email contact with one of the old 1990's "Shuttle" simulator developers a few years ago. He wrote that even 20000 would not be enough to continue developing a game. That was why they did not enhance it any further.

Microsoft never said they were dumping MSFS development, they just said they dumped the group that did FSX. Recently MS has been posting job listings for flight simulator artists.

Why do we need MS FS if we have Orbiter? :P

Goes off to invent Orbiter space FLIGHT simulator expansion addon pack thing....

There will alway be alterative to Microsoft's Flight Simulator...here's some good sim...this "Vehicle Simulator" look very promising.

Why, because there is more than just spaceflight to simulate. ;)

Hence the expansion pack.
Throw in some weather simulation, airports as bases, a good aircraft SDK... voila, one free flight simulator.
In fact, I'm starting to seriously consider this...

This will work as well as the XP petition did....

The programmers are gone, they are not coming back.

No more PC games from microsoft.

There was an XP petition?
What was it for and how did it turn out?

M$ stop selling XP and promoted a broke O/S Vista. You know an O/S is dead when the largest corporation (GM) tells M$ that they aren't going to use it because it is a total waste.

Glancing through the signatures, it looks like a lot of people are under the impression that this is something that hasn't happened yet.

Except that almost all of the employees have already been fired. There's nothing to save, the studio has already been shut down.

This is pointless. Microsoft are a business and this is a business decision. Rightly or wrongly that's it.

Even if MS DO put Flight Sim back into production the original programmers will be in other jobs or possibly not even interested because of how MS has treated them.

Well, al those FS2004 fanboys saying "Just wait until FSXI! It'll be WAY more FPS friendly than FSX!"
Looks like we have 4 options:
-Defect to X-plane
-Beg Bungi to make a flight sim
-Give up and head over to Orbiter
-Stick with whatever we got
