I'm running a P40 (LOI Burn) and I get to the input for the RPY angles. I do a V25E and input the values, pro, pro. When the function 50 18 initiates it maneuvers the vehicle to a different set of values as displayed on the register. Is this the proper procedure? BTW, tries using a +XXXXX and just XXXXX when entering values/

Few things to start, which orbiter and NASSP version and which mission?

Also on P40, you don't input anything in the N18 they are calculated based on your P30 and REFSMMAT, not inputs there.

Orbiter 2016 Beta and NAASP 8 and Apollo 8. As you can tell, I know enough to be dangerous and not enough to solve problems. My question is after I input my RPY data, does it maneuver to those values? After I input the PAD RPY values and hit pro it maneuver's to other RPY values.

So before a P40, you are supposed to maneuver to your burn attitude either manually or via V49.

You do not enter any RPY values into the N18 that comes up when you call P40. P40 will generate the burn attitude which, if you are at the correct roll prior, should match the pad burn attitude.

I think my problem stems from an old release of NAASP 8. I downloaded the latest release on GitHub. The release I was using had a completely different checklist on the checklist MFD. Thanks for your help! I'll start over with the new release. I'll be sure to check back in should I have any issues.

Might have been one of the mission updates.

Also feel free to jump into our discord and get the O24/OO version of NASSP! We are going to be releasing a final version of 8 for O16 beta and then shifting entirely to development on O24/OO. Let me know if you need anything!

Sounnds good, I'll do that. There is a question still about doing LOI-1. When my checklist gets to 0:00 I get know ignition. And theirs a yellow text saying "Ignition +2 - 5 sec". Sounds like an MCC RCS burn command. Why don't I get ignition. Have thoroughly completed all checklist items?

BTW, can you send me the link to discord? I'd like to get the new version.

Thanks, I'll sign up. Question concerning P23. The checklist says 3 marks. Does that mean star, near horizon and far horizon. Or 3 separate mark sequences (star/horizon superimposed mark) per each star?

So until they came up with an EMP to allow P23 to keep going, one pass through P23 is one mark, so you would get to the very end and call P23 again at the F37 to start another mark.

I'm running a p23 and when it loads v37 and I get to the option to load the star code when I press V25E the register locks up within opp error and key rel and does not let me enter the star code. What am I doing wrong?

I am not quite sure what you mean about "loads V37"

When you call P23, you will get a F 05 70 and that's where you load the codes.

Sounds like you are trying to call V25 at another display?

Sorry, I didn't phrase that correctly. I was doing a P23 program per the flight plan. When it came time to enter the star code I Que in V21E to fill in the R1 value for the star, my AGC is flashing opp err and key rel. I try to go back to the previous step with the same result. I've been trying to run the Apollo 8 mission scenarios to try to learn, I've since decided it's best if I just run the full scenario of Apollo 8 and do frequent saves so I can go back if I make a mistake.

if you are getting a opr error and key release you are entering something in the wrong place. You need to fill all 3 registers correctly on the N70 (star, landmark, horizon)

Also are you trying to use a + or - in those registers?

No + or -. As I said, going back and starting from launch has solved my issues with filling in the registers. Now that I'm moving along smoothly, I've come to p23 I cant seem to get the maneuver to sighting attitude correct. I enter V49E then V25E and enter my RPY in the register. From there I'm doing something wrong. when I continue on through the checklist and get to the actual maneuver the 06/18 display shows a different set of RPY values its maneuvering to then the ones I entered. Can you walk me through the V49E process? Also how do I get the star marks? My SLOS key is activated but I don't know how to get the earth in the SXT.

You shouldn't need to V49 anywhere for P23 on 8, the program calculates your angles. The maneuver to sighting attitude was generally either an attitude read up or, in the case of 8, the crew maneuvering to an attitude that places the star and earth/moon on the correct side of the spacecraft. However you should be able to just use the automaneuver in P23 to get there.

At the correct attitude, after pressing "V" the earth will be visible along with the star flashing back and forth between the two in the sextant.

Auto maneuver puts me in the opposite direction from my sighting attitude. Do I have an alignment issue with the IMU?
