Orbiter Video Thread

Just a short video showing the new Celestial Sphere background in the latest beta. Jupiter flyby with UCGO. Sorry about the quality, literally whipped this out in 10min.

Arrow Freighter. That's my baby. I never leave home without it ! For some reason, that virtual cockpit feels the most warm and comfortable out of all the other virtual cockpits I've seen. I think it's a combination of the ambient sound, the view from the captain's chair, and the sleekness of the panels.

Its a new feature with the latest beta. Martin posted some screen shots previously in the Orbiter Screenshots thread.

SWEET!! Are those all new meshes or does my orbiter simply not actually "inflate"?

I LOVE the greenhouse, where can I get one?

Yeah, that happens when you playback scenarios with the XR2. Rather irritating, and even more irritating filtering it out.
There are 2 workarounds for this, rather than filtering it out:

The first method is to disable the liftoff and touchdown callouts in the XR2's config before playback:
Code:
LiftoffCallout=NONE
TouchdownCallout=NONE
and then add the sound back in the editing stage. You have to know when the wheels touch down to add it, though, and it might sound a bit different than when it goes through Orbiter.

The second method is to cutoff the playback (ctrl+C) just as you touchdown, so it acts as it does in normal simulation. Then just control it to keep it on the runway.

Not a big deal, but this little workaround might help you in your videos.

The animations in that vid were made with vinka's spacecraft3.
They look nice but the modules don't have breathable areas.
I made a box the same size as the UCGO cargo, then took Dan's meshes and scaled them down to fit in the box.

The greenhouse cluster is mine. As soon as i make some unpackable plants to go with it, i'll upload it on O-H as a UCGO cargo. I'll also include the "inflatable" spacecraft3 version for anyone that wants it.

:tiphat:

Now that's what I call shock and awe...
