The folks at IRS (Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme, not to be confused with the tax collector's office of the same acronym) at Uni Stuttgart have created a mobile version of their Soyuz simulator, which was shipped to Halley VI station in Antarctica, to test the effect of isolation on performance of pilots and astronauts. As with their full-size simulator, they are using Orbiter as their simulator engine. So it looks like Orbiter is conquering another continent ...

Article (in German, scroll down for English version)

Incidently, I've been invited to give another Orbiter talk at the IRS this May, if anyone's in the area (I *think* it was a public seminar, but I'm not entirely sure. Check before going!)

Wow, cool!

How much would it cost to rent the entire installation for 2 weeks for a LARP? :shifty:

As luck would have it, you posted this on exactly the wrong day for avoiding such confusion. As we speak, millions of Americans are engaged in a frantic last-minute rush to get their taxes done before the filing deadline (fortunately, I am not among them, having done my taxes early).
