Orbiter Forum Space Station

It's a little late, but I'd love to participate in this. I can fly the DGIV, and the XR series. I'm no good with the shuttle, and haven't used the other crafts before.

My only thought is: if we're going to use modules from Mustard's site, would it be possible to compile a list of all the modules that will be used, so we can download them, or am I better off just downloading everything?

What about MAKING an Orbiter forum station?

That is, every add-on developer contribute a module, and they all(/best of them) are assembled into one franken-station?

One module per person/group, defined parameters like connector sizes and module weight, and put them all together.

Well, if this isn't starting until June 10, then I might have a first module we can use. It's basically an American Zvezda or Zarya module with thrusters, engines, and solar arrays. I was working on this project any ways before I even knew about OFSS.

Aw man, I really want to join, but I'm afraid I'm not that good yet. Any clue how long this project will be going for? Would I be able to join at a later date (like a few days to a week), when my orbiter skills are up to a more acceptable level?

My goal is to fly using the Shuttle Fleet. I just haven't really learned it yet. :lol:

Well, you would have enough time to learn if I assign you to a later mission, so you can join if you want. Post here if you really want and I'll invite you into the group. It's always great to have some pilots for the Shuttles.

Yes, something like that, I'll create scenarios, upload them, members give me the scenarios after flying them and from that I'll create new scenarios.

Count me in. I can fly a Shuttle Fleet shuttle to a station if I'm so inclined, but I can't really figure out how the payloads work for it. I'm very, very good at getting a DGIV or XR2/5 to a station and back, so I figure I'll stick to using an XR5 to truck SBB4 parts up there.

Hi. I'm kind of new to Orbiter, and I'd like to join. I can (sort of) fly the DGIV, I haven't really tried the XR5 yet... I've used the XR2 a little but I can't get into orbit, the shuttle is bad with me...

Put me down as I can get the DGIV into orbit and I probably can dock with the OFSS if I try, but I always end up burning trying to reentry. I'll update if I find out I'm gifted at flying the XR5.

I have Wideawake International just so y'know. I'd prefer to takeoff from there in my missions.

EDIT: I can fly to the station with an XR5. When somebody comes to land it I usually leave the radiator out while I dock it so remember to retract that.

I'm in 1000%! My strong point is the Space Shuttle, preferably Shuttle fleet (SSU is great though if you want the detail feeling, but Shuttle fleet is the best for space station construction). I am also extremely good at space station construction missions, and I have recently completed all ISS flights using SF and Universal Cargo Deck. If I may suggest, Id like to fly Space Shuttle Intrepid with the SSRMSD and with Leonardo MPLM to our Space Station. May I ask the inclination of our space station? And when are we going to do the first flight? I can start that too you know.

Also to add to that, I've got a better idea. Why not just post all the addons going to be used during for the station, then a selected member will fly the first flight, post a few screenies of it and put it on the forum. Then someone else will go up to the station with that scenario and Inclination already told, with another module and place it on a selected port and we can continue at that. Hopefully, eventually everyone that wants to participate in this station mission can fly to the station.

Patience. Astrosammy needs to get everything organized before flight plans are drawn out. It's important that it's prepared properly before throwing the first piece in orbit.

That's exactly what Astrosammy has proposed here. Most likely all screen shots will be added to the OFSS social group since members have the ability to add photos to the group.

I'd be up for crew transport or deorbit runs. I'm a little burned out with the construction deal, but flying folks around could be interesting. I can fly just about anything, though I obviously prefer the XR-series and DGIV.
