Gaming New Microsoft Flight Simulator?

Can anyone tell me what the actual download size is? I have countrybuck internet, so if the steam storage size is correct, if I start downloading today I might be playing it before labor day.

I'm currently downloading the 'basic' tier which is 91GiB

Officially released today, so no longer beta. I would expect downloads to be slow, but the installer issues of hanging and crashing are a poor first impression.

But, my install is now running. Currently at 13 of 91 GiB.

Updating windows to 2004 has got it downloading. I think its gone onto the C drive, I really want it on my SSD E drive, but not obviouse.
I'll let it finish and sort it out later.

After having been able to try it for the past months since the earliest Alpha builds I'm downloading the release version, which will finish tomorrow thanks to my amazing internet.

Changed my mind, stopped the download and uninstalled. Will find out tomorrow how to put the download onto my E: drive.
That was a waste of a day.

Reading here and some of the steam reviews, seems like some patches might be incoming. Probably going to hold off a week or so, let you guys get it all figured out for me

Me too. Also a wedding coming up which is pretty expensive. After that we'll see if I've got some money left...

Well, a few issues with MSFS but after some prodding it seems to be quite stable and pretty amazing. I just did a flight over the neighbourhood at sunset - absolutely gorgeous.

I haven't been following the new MSFS too closely. Does anyone know if the major addons devs have announced development plans for aircraft?

They have. OrbX already have scenario out and PMDG said they'd provide addons.

I think it's pretty certain that addons will appear but like anything it will take time.

That was fairly easy. Made a new directory structure on the E: drive. USERS\GEORGE\and so on.
Its downloading the 90GB now.
If it works is another thing!

I put the initial 1G download in my 'regular' Steam location on D: but I never got the option to select any location for MSFS2020.

Now my 222G ssd C: is down to 48G, but it works relatively well for a brand new game at this size.

PS: When the 91G download was finished, Steam goes: "You have been playing this game for 10 hours. Would you recommend it to your friends?" ?

The you choose where the MSFS2020 files go, is in the main installer where it says it will put the "install files" at the very beginning. Just click the "Browse" button and select the folder where you want the files to go.

Installing. Since my C: only had 18GB free, it asked for another location, no problem.
Then advised me to change the system language to English because of ATC messages. That's a bit intrusive but easy to do.

It's installing quite fast, I estimate it will be complete in 4 hours on my lower end PC....

AFAIK, you don't have to change the system language to English, just the actual Language Pack. That's what I did and I haven't had any issues.

I've been playing now for 12 hours...strange that, its only half-way through the download.
Looks like the pc will be doing a night-shift.
