I’m going over the ASTP press kit now and it does go into the specifics of the rendezvous maneuvers. I’ll have to do some studying and flying later tonight.

I don’t have SL-3, but I do have 4. Again, all the screenshots I’m posting are from 1 document so if the resolution is bad I can email the whole thing or something

Highly appreciated!!! Stuff like this is worth its weight in gold to me. I love how the ASTP section of the document refers to the rendezvous profile as the "Classic" Rendezvous Profile.

I'm currently working on ASTP. I have to extend a big gesture of appreciation towards Gargantua2024 for including a Soyuz 7K-TM in their vesselbuilder release of 4throck's Soyuz 7K add-on. A proper 7K-TM has been on my Orbiter wishlist for a very long time. One change I've made to the ASTP Docking Module is moving the Apollo end of the module in a little bit so the CSM's docking ring now properly engages the module and no longer sit just outside the module's drogue. I've also added a docking target and structure to the payload garage of the S-IVB so the Docking Module isn't just floating in there. The alignment of the Milkstool and Mobile Launcher of 39B was also off a little bit so I corrected it in the configuration file for the pad.

I'm having a lot of success with ASTP, that document is a big help. It's a shame that you can't dock to a live spacecraft that's attached to a Multistage2015 booster, it would make things a lot easier and more realistic instead of having to jettison both spacecraft first. I noticed this issue on other add-ons when trying to grapple something when it is docked to something else, something about how Orbiter deals with attachments. On Apollo-Soyuz, the Apollo crew docked to the Docking Module while it was still attached to the S-IVB (much like how it was done in lunar missions) and stayed in that configuration for one orbit before extracting the Docking Module from the S-IVB and performing a separation maneuver.

In theory you can add a docking port to any vessel.
On multistage2015.cfg you can add this:

ClassName = Multistage2015
Module = Multistage2015

; === Docking ports ===
BEGIN_DOCKLIST
0 -0.0356 0.406 0 0 1 0 1 0
0 -0.0356 -0.367 0 0 -1 0 1 0
END_DOCKLIST

I've tested it and for some reason it seemed to prevent me from launching. But docking in flight worked.
So yes, it's possible.

Gosh, it's been awhile, hasn't it? Life got busy on me these last few months. I've caught the spaceflight bug again so I think I'll start tinkering once more, it's really been too long. Also, last December marked the tenth anniversary of me joining this community of space nerds, it really doesn't even feel real to be honest. I have several projects going at the moment but I'm going to prioritize this one. I need to finish simulating the launches for the lunar flights as well as the flights to Skylab. I will simulate some of the proposed variations and developments of the Saturn family but they will only carry dummy payloads, I will not make the same mistake I made with my first attempt at this project. I will also make mission scenarios for Apollo 7, Apollo-Soyuz, and for the manned Skylab missions.

Life happens. Good to hear that you are re-infected - with the spaceflight bug, that is. Tinkering is good for you. In the meantime it's good to have your 2010 project in hand. Thanks.

Seems like a good call. Let's sort the rockets first!

On my end, I tried to do a Multistage Saturn I Centaur for lunar flights...
PM if you need some simple meshes (interstates, skirts, etc) for such variations. I don't have time for any detailed 3D work, but I can do some generic "velcro like" meshes. Those are good enough for our purposes - as long as dimensions are overall shape is right, it will look decent.

Happy Easter Orbiter Forum! I'm forcing myself to work on the Saturn V, I decided to reverse engineer the values from the AMSO Saturn V rather than try to find the values myself like I had to do with the Atlas. I'm doing testing on Apollo 10 with launches from 39B, with further Apollo missions hopefully flowing cleanly from this.

For a little bit of a roadmap, here's what I currently have done:

AS-201
AS-202
Apollo 4
Apollo 6
Apollo 7
Apollo 8
Apollo 9
Apollo 10
Apollo-Soyuz
Skylab A/1
SA-1
SA-4
SA-5
SA-6
Saturn INT-20

This is what I hope to have done by release:

Apollo 11-17
Skylab 2-4
Saturn INT-12
Saturn INT-13
Saturn INT-18
Saturn INT-19

I also want to do scenario files for Apollo 7 and Apollo-Soyuz since I find the rendezvous maneuvers a little complicated and I want a series of step by step scenarios to help guide along people who have never properly flown these missions before. I've finally settled into my new job so I plan on taking a few hours each night to work on this.
