I also realized that from 1966-1975, instead of a boarding cabin on the gantry, they instead had stairs that decended from the top level (see the Soyuz 10 pic I posted previously)

Also note that Bion and Foton satellites are basically Zenits with a flat circular top instead of a cononacle top

They also launched these Zenit Return Spheres perched on top of a Yantar service unit. This special varient was called the Yantar 1KFT for Siluet and Kometa missions
