Question Making SolidWorks models to meshs

Can the SolidWorks software export a model to .3ds format? If it can, then the answer to your question is probably "Yes."

You would build your model with SolidWorks, export the model to a .3ds file, then convert the .3ds to an Orber mesh using one of the available freeware converters -- MeshMaker (by Radu) or 3ds2msh (by Vinka).

Here is a screenshot of the list wich file-types it can export. The uppest (Teil) is just useable for SolidWorks, that I know.
It can export:

Technically yes.

I would use stl, import it into Blender and export it as .msh

However stl doesn't support groups.
