I'll check it out latter and give some advice, but congratulations for your first addon!
To to resize, rotate and move meshes, I'd recommend Mesh Wizard ([ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2740"]Mesh Wizard 1.9d[/ame]).
To add animations, you have to prepare the mesh for it (groups) and then define them in the ini file. I wouldn't worry about them for now.
My advice for further development would be to simulate launch and landing. That would require several meshes and several config files. The ideia is that each craft has a payload that separates. The final separation would be the lander itself on the surface.
Another road to follow would be to try to simulate the real movement of the rover: speed, turning angle, etc.

I've checked it. Since you asked for some help, here are some things you need to fix
:
Folder names: Your zip has a mesh folder instead of a Meshes folder, so the scenario didn't work at first. Also, the read-me should go the docs folder and not stay on the root.
Structure: You have the lander and the landing stage in the same mesh. You will need to separate them and configure each one as separate craft.
For guidance, you can see how the MER rovers add-on is structured. Start from the final scenarios, with the rover on the surface and use them as reference for your project. It will get you on the right direction fast
