"Darling!" I'm sure some people around here remember that old Japanese sci-fi comedy show from the '80s, Urusei Yatsura, and so I thought I'd put together this simple spaceship from it to teach myself how to make add-ons for Orbiter. This is my first go at it, but I hope you approve. Of course it has capabilities far beyond what's realistic, but I tried to balance it to give you the run of the solar system yet at the same time require at least a modicum of skill. It's slightly aerodynamic, being a saucer, but only does well as a frisbee when the hover engines are on. Hopefully it'll be a fun, easy ship to cruise around in. Requires Vinka's spacecraft3.dll (sold separately)

Glad someone else recognized it! I recently got some free time and felt the urge to make an add-on, and since a new episode of Urusei Yatsura was just produced for a retrospective of the author's works, I thought I'd make Lum's UFO to commemorate it. UY's always brought me a lot of cheer, so I figured I'd pass that on.

Will you be adding a Lum avatar to your add-on any time soon?
...
I didn't know UY was even known outside of Japan.

Do you mean a Lum UMMU mesh? That'd be neat, but I'm new to 3D modeling, so I don't know if I could do her justice without a bit more practice to sharpen my Blender instincts. I'd be fun to make the Oni Mothership to fly around in, though, or Benten's Airbike or any of the other many UY spaceships, but I've got a lot of work to do, and when I get around to making add-ons again I feel like I should do original ships, or at least an O'Neill colony or something else serious.
...
It seems like UY's gained a bit of notoriety outside Japan since the series came out on DVD, which is nice. It's definitely a classic.

this is very good for your first addon :)
