With the next SpaceX Dragon flight also carrying a second payload to be deployed into another orbit, I think it might be good time for someone to pick up the (in)famous constellations of low Earth orbit communication satellites. Once promised to be a huge market of satellite phones, text messages and data transfer in the 1990's (and made a big boost to the markets of rockets like the Delta II, the Proton, the Soyuz, the Chinese rockets etc.) tumbled quickly during the IT bubble burst of 2000. Then a decade later, the companies finally recovered enough to try restoring part of the market.
It would be interesting enough to do these satellites:
Of course, if someone has other suggestions on LEO comsats that I missed, it would be most welcome!
I hope someone has enough interest time and interest to do this project. :tiphat:

It would be interesting enough to do these satellites:
- Iridium (original)
- Iridium-NEXT
- Globalstar (1st gen.)
- Globalstar (2nd gen.)
- Orbcomm
- Orbcomm-2 (the one flying on the Falcon 9)
