Titan has a whole ocean's worth of hydrocarbons on it, but we can't bring it back to Earth for our own use--and by the time we have propulsion that could cost-effectively bring it back, fossil fuels will have been made obsolete by the same technology that made said propulsion possible!

Is there some kind of margin of error on this stuff? When these sort of observations are made, what are the chances that they could be inaccurate?
Additionally, what role does "sensationalism" play in this? I notice the way the headlines are written. I get the sense that theories and speculation are too rapidly accepted as fact. I personally prefer to be more cautious than that.
