landing on the sun

its defo a bug, theres no journey between the sun and mercury, it seems that it dumps you on mercury whenever it cant work out where you should be (makes sense, because its planet number 1 in the sol.cfg)

That's never happened to me. If I break the Universe it usually gives me an SmA of -1.#R or somesuch, which results in being in some kind of alternate universe without planets or Sol.

I went through the sun several times because apparently I did something wrong on IMFD. I was expecting a crash the first time, but no, even after around three times it still hadn't crashed. I was trying to get to Mercury from Earth.

And you where probably trying to do so while mercury was on the other side of the sun. Not really something wrong you did with IMFD, just one heck of an inconvieniant launch window...

inconvinient? try saying that when you come out of the other side of the sun after inventing the highest state of matter

It wasn't, at least I don't think it was. I was following the tutorial for how use IMFD. Somehow I still screwed up by following it to the letter. As best I could anyways, some parts were confusing. Anyone have a more recent tutorial? Possibly one that goes to Mars or something so I don't have to worry about the sun?

And I still have yet to do an orbit capture. Warp makes it worse. I spent minutes trying to make corrections, but the orbit decayed for no good reason on me even if I had it nearly circular. Although I suppose R-warp counts.. I did get to a circular orbit that time. And I like listening to it count up all the .9's.
