... and in this particular case it was the kerb that launched the car.
They need a strip of grass or gravel or even a step, so pilots don't consider the runoff "normal track".


It's absolutely moronic that one can not only post a lap time while going outside of the track (Vettel), but now times can also be set under a Red Flag (Bottas). :facepalm:

That's my point exactly, you dont go out there if there is no surface to run on. Then you dont need a sausage kerb that launches the car. At worst you get a Warrick type incident.
