Im trying to find a Soyuz TMA crew vehicle for orbiter 2010. I downloaded one that was finally able to show up in orbiter scenarios but it keeps failing to start up. I transferred the files in a way that I know works but for some reason no matter how many times I replace the files it still has this problem so I might just give up on that Soyuz addon and try one that works. Anyone have a link to a solid Soyuz addon that works? Its hard finding a good one when there's a bunch of them on the addon website.

I've tried several of the Soyuz addons on Orbiter Hanger, and if your having problems with one or more of them, I might be able to help you out.

Thing is, I don't know enough about your problems to suggest anything. What addons have you tried, and what exactly happens to make them not start up?

I don't remember what they were. I just ended up uninstalling orbiter in order to to a clean re-install. I was extracting the zipped files in the addon I wanted then I moved all files in the zip folder to the orbiter file location. some addons worked but others failed to start up. Any advice on how to perform an addon installation properly? I'm still getting used to addons.

It'll help if you can post the orbiter log for any failures.

Some work and some don't.
Could it be a Vinka-not-installed issue?

Not sure. I Created a thread asking for addon help. I'm now trying to see if there's software out there that can transfer addons directly from the zip folder to orbiter without having to do it manually and not screwing it up as I have.

Usually, the easiest way to this is to simply extract the .zip file directly to the root Orbiter folder (C:\Orbiter for example), making sure to preserve the directory structure when extracting. Almost all current and recent addons are packed correctly to do this, with a few exceptions such as Kulch's URMS which extracts an .msi installer.

OK so I'm thinking of downloading anything related to Soyuz (launch vehicles spacecraft payloads launch pads etc.) from hangar mods & combining them all in to one zip folder and extracting all of it directly to orbiter. Could this work?

Yes, but you could just unzip each individual addon directly into Orbiter without going through the hassle of rezipping them.

I did that and it worked! Thanks. I got every addon needed (really wished they would pack them all in one addon) I'm just working out the TMA CEVL light 06 problem now. I think it's just compatibility problems because the TMA spacecraft vanishes when I try to do something other than maneuvers like separating the modules or deploying the solar arrays.

Soyuz series version 1.0 by mustard and the soyuz TMA CEVL 06 light. I finally got everything to load properly with no crashes. I'm currently trying to find a replacement for the CEVL 06 light TMA because it has been having some issues (the TMA disappears when I try an SM separation or solar panel deployment command) I think its because its configured for orbiter 06 so it doesn't mix well with 2010P1 which is the orbiter I use.

@ stealthstar You need to stop posting about this matter. Here's a little summary of all the threads in which you have posted about the same problem :

http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?p=465516&postcount=15

http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?p=465988&postcount=5

http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?p=465528&postcount=2

http://orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?p=465394&postcount=1

http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?p=466508&postcount=3

And that makes it six threads (including this one).

I'm not saying that you should not ask for help here. Please do and we will all try to help you to the best of our abilities. But you should learn to take the advice given and learn from your mistakes.

In this case, the Soyuz CVEL addon is extremely obsolete and I can't understand why you don't let that one go.

Sorry Its just a problem that has been really frustrating me recentily. (i dont think about things like that when I'm frustrated) but I'll try to control myself from now on. Also I've decided to move on and have fun with the new PTK NP (the new Russian capsule ship) addon I got today which is way easier to get working than the soyuz mods.
