Be advised that reflashing BIOS carelessly may turn the computer into a wall decoration.

Not for the password but for the hard drive message.I might ask my cousin for help, he knows how to diagnose as well as fix problems with computers.

Hold on a minute. You are confusing me. You posted about a BIOS upgrade in the same post you referred to a password issue yet you are expecting the firmware upgrade to fix a hard drive message?

huh?

Slow down. One step, one problem at a time.

Does the changelist for the BIOS upgrade mention fixing issues with erronous hard drive messages?

No it doesnt. And my cousin said that the computer might not be able to support a ard drive this large so he is going to get me a 40GB one instead.and the diskette problem might be because I had the floppy disk out.

somewhere in BIOS there should be option called "Boot up floppy seek" - turning it off will disable this warning message.
