Instead of the Various Space Station Modules, you could take a look at Steve's [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=5744"]Project-Outposts: Wet Workshops V2.1.0[/ame]

Still, only modules (and some other candy) but seriously "pretty".

Wow, thank you. I hadn't come across that before. That actually looks pretty great. As long as I'd have the capability to launch individual modules via a Jarvis, or possibly (if they're small enough) in the Eridanus cargo bay, this looks perfect. If they're not small enough, and since money isn't really an issue in Orbiter, I'd just launch the modules into a proper parking orbit, send up an Eridanus, and tow it to the rest of the station.

Do you know if there's any animations included? Solar panel deployment, etc.?

On a side note, does Shuttle Fleet or SSU work well for things like custom building stations? I've only tried once with SFv4.8 and for the life of me i couldn't figure out how to properly rotate the modules in the PLDB. Every time I tried to alter the CFG, I'd end up either stretching the modules, squishing them, or just plain blowing them up to gigantic proportions. Even after reading the manual for it. For some reason it just didn't click for me.

I have used SF for my custom station building needs, over several flights. Read up in the manual, there is a whole section on orienting things in the PLB, and once you get the hang of it it will be a breeze, just need to alter the right numbers, but it is all covered in the manual.

Yeah I just installed SF and all the necessary add-ons (MFD's, the "KSCPatch" that includes a "hopefully" working AutoFCS, etc.). I remember my main difficulty was figuring out which parameters were the correct ones to alter. I know there's parameters for offset, rotation, and 1 more that I can't recall at the moment. I was just having trouble figuring out how to rotate/lower/raise the payload item properly. I remember being confused that each parameter was composed of 3 numbers ie. 0 1 0, then 0 0 1. I just couldn't figure out what those all meant.

I experimented for probably an hour or more at one point. I DID manage to either squish the payload mesh into a pancake, or make it look incredibly large (and flat), or just plain HUGE. I just couldn't figure out which figures to adjust to rotate the payload by a simple 90* so that the module wasn't placed perpendicular to the payload bay.

I recall that the default numbers were either 1 or 0. Are the only acceptable numbers 1 or 0? Or just anything between 1 and 0? I may have tried entering 90 at some point (with obscene results) because my train of thought was "I want to rotate it by 90*, so enter 90*". I was obviously very wrong haha.

I'm also going to need to brush up on what the X,Y and Z coordinate frames are in a 3D environment. I guess I was also partially hung up on thinking "graph paper", which is probably another reason I was just messing things up horribly.

I went over the manual several times but it really just provided an example for positioning the RMS. I couldn't wrap my head around how to translate it to adding a payload. Especially proper positioning. I'm guessing I'd have to look into the vessel's INI file to figure where the Shuttle attachment points are, then someone correlate and line those up with the SF payload coordinate system.

I'll take a good, hard look at it when I get home in an hour or so and see if I can't make sense of it. If not, I may be back. If I do come back, please be patient haha. I'm quite the newb with the SF addon and I'm just anxious to get to the point where I can add payloads correctly without putting too much thought into it.

Edit: Yeah. The whole payload system and setup eludes me. I looked at some of the included scenario files and I could see things were attached to the shuttle, but listed as "orbiting earth", even though the shuttle was on the pad. And there seemed to be cradles or something also in the bay besides just the main payload. And I also saw the in the shuttle part of it, it said payload mass=0. I'm basically lost.

If I wanted to just have the assembled station with no other add ons how would I do that? I wish just to have the nice ISS, nothing else. I plan to do just Dragon and CST-100 missions to the ISS...no shuttle or progress.

You will need modules from ISS A to Z to snap onto the station to finish its build out, or use A to Z's station which also requires ISS 3.2 for the Russian modules. That is probably the easiest way for you to get what you are looking for.

but the end of the SSRMS attached to MBS does not hinge properly

it looks like it is not fixed. Do you have a solution ?

Hi there it took me a while to work out the coordinate system and the vectors the coordinates are from the center of the object your attaching to say the Shuttle Payload bay in shuttle fleet
the first number would normally be the left or right position I found for a perfect centering you might need a small plus number (around 0.05)
the second number is the vertical position ie the up or down
and the last is the distance along the length of the the shuttle bay ie plus is towards the cockpit and minus it towards the aft
Ok the vectors the first three are the Direction normally a 1or -1 is the Maximum ie 0,1,0 that means with the rotation you can only put a 1 in the other two spots ie at the start 1,0,0 or at the end 0,0,1 you can't put the 1 in the same position as the 1 is in the first three vector EXAMPLE
for shuttle fleet
PL1_OFS 0.050000 0.800000 -5.000000 Location
PL1_DIR 0.000000 0.000000 1.000000 Direction
PL1_ROT 1.000000 0.000000 0.000000 Rotation
if you wanted to rotate the direction by 90 degrees you need to put the 1 in the second available slot
PL1_ROT 0.000000 1.000000 0.000000 Rotation a minus 1 would make the rotation the other direction
best way is look at how others set up the vector if you want an angle other than 90 degrees you need to set up numbers less than 1 but all three need to add up to 1 but is very complicated
there is a vector normalizer tool but it only seems to work on Windows XP
I've an old computer kept just for that
pity somebody couldn't get it working on more up to date Windows (an App for Android would be perfect)

hope this helps a bit

Question about launch pad key commands.

Hi. Great addon, I found it some months ago, been using it, figuring it out. Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, I think so. How do I move the RSS in the LC-39 associated with this addon, what key command? I cannot find it anywhere for the life of me. And I'm trying to remember what else I've been wanting to ask.

IIRC you don't need to move the RSS, the scenarios start out with it rolled back.

Hello everyone,
I have a little problem with my EMU the ADDON ISS.

The American astronaut carries on his back the package No. 6 and the dotted red tape.
I do not find another version with another No. package as well as red tape continues.

35015320160712143340.jpg

I have the same problem with the Russian Cosmonaut, I can not find one that in combination with blue stripes.

37020020160712143638.jpg

Do you know the lines of code to change the combinations ?

Thank you in advance for your answers

Trying to get the ISS to work on the latest version of Orbiter but i am having troubles.

I have.
ISS A2Z
International Space Station v.3.2
SSU 3.0
Spacecraft 3

But i am trying to figure out how to get a completed ISS to show up in Orbiter.
With all the parts attached.

The term "latest version" is ambiguous these days, given the advanced state of the Orbiter 2016 beta.

Noting from Orbiter 2010 or 2006 is guaranteed to work with the beta.
