Hi,
I have a 50" LCD-TV with 1080i.
I can connect my PC via DVI to it, and Desktop, MSFS04 runs fine on 1080i.
So now my question is, howto run Orbiter with that resolution?
It only give me max. of 1024x768, but not 1920x1080.
Is there any Configfile I need to tweak?

Greetings .

Make sure you're using the right display adapter from the drop down. When I have my laptop plugged into an HDTV, it shows up as a second (identically-named) display adapter in the drop down list, which I have to select before it will allow me to use the HD resolutions.

Thanks for the tipp, but I'm running my normal 1024x768 or the TV standalone.
What do you mean with drop-down?

One thing to check - do you run the external screen as a "clone" of the internal, or do you run the external screen only? I think you only see resolutions that work on BOTH screens when cloned - I know I can only get the 1440x900 16:9 mode on my monitor if I disable the internal 1024x768 4:3 LCD screen.

Which tv is it? That'll help us better diagnose the issue.

I'm running the Screen standalone, the 4:3 isn't plugged in.
Maybe a solution would be to drive Orbiter in Window-mode with 1920x1080 and uncheck "Force 4:3 ratio"?
(But fullscreen would be the best solution ;)).

The drop-down box for "3d device" selection.

You are running 1080p btw.
DirectX is not capable of producing interlaced output.

Another hint: The XR series craft all come with 1920 pixel wide 2D panels. Just enable them in the config and you can utilise the resolution to the fullest.
