How to roll and translate foward?

Hi...The 6 key is assigned to roll right AND translate forward, depending on what mode you are in...Obviously there is no time to keep switching modes when docking...and constant adjustment is needed.

What is the right procedure here?

If the object is rotating too quickly for you, there is a cheat. Bring up the object you are docking with using the scenario editor, and select [Edit], using the angular velocity tab, you can "kill" any movement. This should make docking with it much easier.

Docking to a rotating station (either Station V (from Worlds of 2001) or Luna Station in the stock installation) is pretty difficult until you get the hang of it. But the reward is great once you figure it out.

I actually did it real time with no cheats...but the switching back and forth between Lin an Rot was a pain.

Right after I'd responded I went and flew the WO2001 mission 'Titov to Station V' to see if I could still do it. It was ugly, but I made it.

It was clear that I'm way out of practice.
