Conceptual bugs: Some of the list entries below would love to be "opened / used". Theres a cricital collision with the concept of Orbiter "don't implement something that doesn't have a function". So major re-thinking of several cargos is need even this might lead them to be trashed. Another bug is: Some should be only stored on ships that provide fast access (Arrow sure has at least one toilet in every section I guess but the XR2, any toilet included, naahhh, see what I mean)? It would not make sense to transport a toilet with Arrow unless the player wants to built the "crap imperium". ;)

Conceptual cheats: Yes, they exist, now imagine the cargo "relaxation room module". Not looking at the fact that such a cargo should be XL sized we just play with it. What we do now? Easy, we keep the cargo in our ship for at least some couple ingame days. Then we eject the cargo, voila, magic, the relaxation room is now somewhere inside your ship, even you can't see it. But this doesn't work with everything. See for yourself...

Shame on me, diversity made me ill, why must everything be made out of soo many things? The wiseman say: It's all connected. Yes, maybe, but did they consider that a usual human can only keep track of maximum seven things at once. I really would like to donate to the inventor of "lists", whoever he was, great job, helps a lot concluding things. Never mind, please. Inspired over years by: Elite, X3, GalCiv, Eve and other games with item trees or item management. Unfortunately, most Simulations don't have any good item implementation. Orbiter is different, I say it's the best case spot for the diversity thing (e.g. not beeing limited to nothing, simulating the real world).

Important: To all external idea stealers, shame on you, remember where you saw it first. Theres nothing like Orbiter Space Sim, this idea belongs to the community. Except StarCitizen, that was the one inspired me to think of a toilet cargo, I stealed that idea for Orbiter *strike. ;)
And well if this ever inspires you for another game it's cool but I hope that in case you only feature a couple of those items a "but hey what about this or that diversity request storm" hits you. And btw, unlike others Orbiter can seriously handle a ultra huge item tree (with eveything except beeing just a text sample).

Heres a WIP

First of all thx to BruceJohnJennerLawso. I just modified his box. It was the first cargo I made for Orbiter right after he released it, weared "Vegetables" and was interchanged for DanSteph's newest cargo box. Now it turned into something totally different – introducing the ShieldBox MkI.

I simply added:

– a shield grid (a.k.a. Faraday cage)
– has a OLED-Screen
– the enteriy box tries to imitate a composite material look (unfornutaly,you can't really see it)
– the Xpad2 with lefty mini-joystick and USB/whatever (sorry FoodDivPack users, you run the Xpad1 for now).
– some retro control module as seen with FoodDivPack
– one guidance text block and a sidewise neon labeling (one of it tries to imitate dawn)
– a funny wrong aslope QR-Code
– the box is now stilted at the bottom

You know, I don't really think a 1 meter cube needs those locking bars from shipping containers. Unless those are something else, 'cause that's what they look like to me.

...making compromises!

Workflow:
If I start to create my own box mesh this project will never be finished, since I would 3D-modell everything instead of painting it. My shedule says "now or never; rapidly publish at least a dozen of boxes or loose interest like "hey now I wanna design a spaceship". I would stumble, I'm only human, real life can seriously damage this project by "I have no more time, I'm a busy man".

See, I could use your help. Tell me, how would the best "case" look like? I planned for today: search OrbitHangar for any available type of box meshes, compare them, pick the best one. If you care about what your new cargos should look like keep in mind: Don't let me down, please. :thumbup: ...real life stuff beginns to burn, one week more and you won't see me here that often.

BTW: Right now painting the Stone-2-Water-O-Food-Matic.

FYI: Bruce and me, we are working on a allnew 3D cargo box mesh. Stay tuned!
