Gaming Hielor's Minecraft Server

I just logged in for a few minutes, walked outside into a light snowfall, and got struck by lightning. fml :P

Ah, another user of JoliCraft.

Kamina Island sent out its first crop shipment today. Until they grow back, I'll focus on building a processing center for visitors, then getting to work on the adventure area.

I advert that the MD & BC entrance mine is in my future house field ( as marked my sign )

After much trial and error (and by error I mean, nearly burning down my farm.) Shootingiron's donation of Netherrack allowed Kamina Ranch to have a burning deathmoat. Mobs (and visitors) beware.

Would this be allowed in the server? not a cheat, but a manipulation of a glitch
The video states that it doesn't work in multiplayer. I have verified this on the server.

As for it being allowed? That's a pretty dumb question. If I was going to allow infinite item duplication, why don't we just have it be a creative server?

Let me be absolutely clear: If I catch you using any kind of glitch to obtain infinite or unnatural amounts of anything (with the obvious exception of things like cobblestone or stone generators, which still require you to mine the object and are intended behavior), I will ban you. Use common sense.

The redstone/obsidian thing also doesn't count under this rule, since you're just trading one thing for another--unlike the above video in which you're getting something for nothing.

well, better add that one to the first post then, don't see that in the rules section, which is why I asked, well thank you then for the explanation

Added that to the original post, to the tune of a dirge while I buried the last vestiges of common sense remaining in the world.

There once was a young lad named Hielor
With a fi-fi-fiddle-dee-dee
He started a minecraft server
And found out how dumb some could be

If it did work in multiplayer, the only not-smart thing to do is mention it in the thread instead of secretly and discreetly practising your witchcraft in some hole deep in the world.

For what it's worth I don't think it was obvious at all that we weren't allowed to use "legitimate" glitches in the unmodified program. They are, after all, just as much part of the Minecraft program as the features.

Btw, I would like to tell the good news, that the Leeuwenhoek has 2 Residents now, Johan8211 and Woo482 both in flats 102 and 201 respectively :D

Does anyone know who dug into my house?

I suspect this person also stripped iron out of my unfinished tunnels. Whoever it is, could you please go somewhere else? There's lots and lots of room underground in this world that doesn't interfere with other players' living space.

I know I haven't been around in a few weeks. School has caught up to me a bit, but I'll be back hopefully this week to at least fix up the maze and take a look at the new developments! :)

I would consider there to be two different "tiers" of glitches--ones that add a new and somewhat interesting mechanic without really giving you a huge advantage, and ones that give you a huge advantage. Things like the redstone/obsidian thing are firmly in the first category--you're still doing a 1:1 trade for things, you're just trading what consumable you use, and it still takes a long time to get anything done.

Things like "infinite items" are quite firmly in the second category, I think.

That makes sense. I'm not arguing in favour of infinity glitches, of course. Would make other people's hard-earned items worthless.

To close the loop on this:

This looks like a relatively innocent mistake, where someone made a portal too close to Izack's, then popped out of Izack's portal.

They then proceeded to take some iron, and spend 40 minutes tunnelling back to their place.

I've reverted the iron that was taken, and discussion with Izack and others has concluded that no ban is necessary in this case--I think "spend 40 minutes tunnelling" is plenty of punishment :P

HOWEVER, if you find yourself accidentally in someone else's house or mine for any reason--do not assume that if there's unmined ore they don't want it. Ask first.

For university studies, from tomorrow my presence in the server will decrease rapidly so the Thermae ( Bathouse ) construction will be afected. Until now the first floor is almost finished, the second floor is half finished and there is a fully functional piston elevator.

I have signed the field near my provisinal house and mine entrance to be the area of my future house, the field is half cleaned and prepared for construction.

Say me thru the O-F if you have any problem with my constructions.
