Hello All.

great forum!

Ive been playing orbiter 2010 for a month or so - managed to complete the 3 delta glider checklists recently (very satisfying!). struggling with trans x a bit tho.

I used to have the old orbiter a few years ago and i remember having lots of rockets, both USA and USSR to play with - can you still get them for this version?

I have the Project Apollo NASSP download but its not something you can just light up and have a fly (from what i have seen anyway!)

anyhows if anyone can suggest some fun launch vehicles i can fly in between my transx studies i would be grateful!

cheers :)

Many addons on Orbithangar.

Welcome back !!

Hi sunstu, welcome to the forum.

I played KSP for a few months, getting to other planets is easier to learn in it than orbiter but rendezvous with other ships I wasn't able to do probably due to the lack of MFD's.

I did try Orbiter a few years, I tried flying into space but always fell back down again, didn't know what else to do in it and gave up.

Anyway from Kerbal I learn't about orbital mechanics and such, got bored of it and started playing Orbiter again, still a learning curve but I stuck with it, learned how to get to the ISS and just did that a couple of times a week for a month, then transfer MFD to get to the moon, then Mars using TransX, watched a lot of David Courtney's videos to learn those things BTW. Now using Basesync, Aerobreak MFD's to actually land at bases other than just traveling to another planet.

I am at the stage now I can go to other planets and do various things without needing to watch videos. I have not done anything new in orbiter for awhile but I would like to learn IMFD, Glidescope MFD and a few others. Also have done one of the Apollo missions.

Orbiter is a really interesting program and after using it for 6 months I haven't lost any interest in it at all but I am not using it as much as before.

I am not sure what the 3 delta glider checklists are, but you seem to be doing well for 1-2 months into it. My favorite ship is the XR5 with non default skin and favorite base is Orcuspatera on Mars and 2nd is Luna 2.

TransX I found difficult to learn, I think my main problem was I would watch one of David's videos on TransX while doing the same scenario at the same time, but I didn't go over and practice it again by myself and when I tried to use it a few days later I forgot how to use it. So I watched the videos again and then did the same scenario a couple of times myself and it finally sunk in. I would say it is interesting but not fun learning MFD's, it is satisfying after you have learn't them to do you own trips.
