Hy everybody :) I'm new around here (as you can see). A few days ago I found Orbiter-an older version on a site, so I decided to try the 2006 version and I liked it. I want to ask: there will be a new version of Orbiter? Some more reallistic, some alligned with current hardware?
I am sorry if this comment is in the wrong place, but here i've seen the most recent discussions.

There will be a new version and it is already in development. There is/was a beta around here... somewhere.
But when the next Orbiter will be released is explained in computerex's post. It shouldn't be released until at least Tuesday but it could happen anytime between now and the end of time. :)

Welcome! I started off with Orbiter a couple of weeks ago.

Quick_Nick: This coming Tuesday!? :speakcool:

:welcome:
What do you mean by realistic? Collision Detection? (There is an ongoing add-on regarding that) The new version pretty much comes whenever it does, surprising us all. Major changes to the next version is the separation between the graphics engine and Orbiter-core.

Happy Orbiting!

HAHA, Tuesday! Love that one.

Im wondering is there any add-ons or something similar that let say ships don't go true one another,I mean a real collision.

I think there's an addon called "Meshland" in development, that should allow you to collide with other ships.

But it's in development.

BTW, welcome to Orbiter, NewOne!

I'll try that, still in progress as you say.
It would be great to have collision and bouncing in Orbiter.

Yes, Collision Detection, a more reality-like cosmic space, textures, maby bump-mapping on planets? :D... especially on Earth, the particle effect is a little obsolete, I think it can be better, you kow... stuff like this :).
I will wait for that Tuesday between now and the end of the time :woohoo:

A more reality-like cosmic space? what do you mean?
Also - what about particles? You mean replacing default particles in next version or something else?

And yes, having an updated graphics engine could nice. Just hope something finished will finally come from OVP someday.

P.S. Happy orbiting!

In case you guys are wondering, I told NewOne "hello" and he told me that we should reply in english... which we would have anyway. Nothing special ...

PS: 2006 is the latest and greatest version; people don't like being asked about new versions here -btw they were "soft" on you, I guess because you are new :) .

Next version will be released on Tuesday... the only problem is which tuesday...
I hope it will be on Tuesday... because on the other days I am flying on orbit... :roflcopter:

Yeah, the two big no no's with Orbiter are 'when will the next release come out' and calling Orbiter a game :) Say away from those two and the crowd will love you.
