Hello all
Though I've downloaded and used Orbiter in the past, I only just now registered with this forum. I was drawn to Orbiter because of my interest in space opera of the hard sci-fi variety.
Currently, I am attempting to write my own hard sci-fi fiction and am hoping to share ideas with other forum members regarding the technical details in my fiction, (orbital trajectories, rocket engine performance, etc.). So far, I've found sites such as Atomic Rockets and Rocketpunk Manifesto to be very useful, but it's no substitute for discussing ideas with others. Although I have no formal background in any of these topics, the research I have already done over the past two years gives me some elementary knowledge, which I hope to share in return.
As for myself, I am American-born, but live in Japan, working in commodity trading. My Japanese isn't perfect, but good enough that I can use it professionally. I am also trying to master Chinese, but am still a beginner. Besides hard sci-fi, my interests include modern history, politics, and science.
