HASA crew back from vacation
the first HASA crew is back from their holiday. They were free for 2 weeks. A small group of workers stayed at WideAwake and in the HQ in the Netherlands. Those people are free in 4 weeks, for a 1 week holiday.
Dragon-C failure was not a mistake of HASA
The failure of the Dragon-C vessel, was not a mistake of HASA. This is said by investigators, that are not related to HASA. It was programming fault. A SpaceX engineer forgot to program an engine stop command.
Jarvis parts arrived
The parts for a new Jarvis launcher arrived at WideAwake. Engineers can now start assembly of the launcher to launch the Antares spacecraft to the moon.
First parts of Albatross arrived
The first parts or the Albatross arrived at WideAwake. Albatross will fly to mars to study the ground and air on mars. This is the first mission of a series of mission that will study the red planet. Engineers are now beginning to assemble Albatross.
Looking if Chapman probes are good for future missions
HASA is looking if the Chapman probes are good for future studies of Mars. If so, they will by one or two for mission to Mars.
New future plans for HASA
While the most of the crew were on vacation, HASA managers were still discussing how the future will look like for HASA. They've decided the following:
HASA will launch a new space station. The space station will use the same modules that are used with the MIR. In the end, it will look like the MIR. but only from the outside. From the inside, the astronauts will have much more room.
HASA is still making a document with much more details, but that isn't finished yet.
The first module will be launched when they're busy with the lunar base, or shortly after that. The space station will be used for advanced study on space traveling, for example to Mars.
New astronauts
HASA has accepted new astronauts for the missions to the new space station. The plans for the space station are currently still under development, but the crew is already in training. When the first flight will be is not yet known.
