Is there a fix to keep the GTX Trailblazer spaceplane from crashing? Usually the supplied scenarios work fine but always always always, the GTX crashes most of the time in the scenario editor. No matter what computer I'm on or what umpteenth Orbiter install I've tried to use the GTX in, it always tends to crash when I try to use it in the scenario editor.

Sorry, I have been away from Orbiter for more than a year so have only just seen your post. The GTX release was not configured to support Scenario Editor - you had to edit the .scn file with a text editor like the old days.

I have relocated all the old GTX files - I had built a version with SRBs for increased payload as per a NASA plan, just had to do the documentation. May release it if there's any interest.

yes upload GTX SRB PLease

I thought the GTX model was well done, Its a bit touchy and has a resolution problem on my computer, But overall it works well in the aspect of emulating the GTX Flight profile from what I can see. Please upload the SRB Version and any info on how you set up the ram jet operation would be great. Maybe after learning its operation I can make a doco for it. If you want send source code and maybe we can get someone to fix whatever problems appear in Orbiter 2010.

Thank You
Jay

I may be idealist, but I believe in the future the GTX research nasa did may get another look. Once NASA masters scramjet operation then this vehicle or something like it may become a viable cheap way to space. NASA is currently looking for a company to tackle advanced carbon carbon manufacturing (same stuff as shuttle nose), if someone finds a way to make it into complex shapes a vehicle could be made like the gtx, where hypersonic speeds pose much less of a threat to airframes. Mix in a rocket and scramjet, and the GTX becomes a real possibility.
