On monday I finally was able to get a hold on someone at the school. Nice lady told me pretty much what I thought she would, which is kinda nice since I didn't really need any surprises specially one that would lead to more studying. Allthough she did suggest to me that I should if I can take some classes in the university as well to up my changes. That's kind of good news as well since if I take those classes I don't need to take them again in the uni. The negative side is that those classes cost money, not too much
though (50e/class or 250e/course), but I'll worry about those if/when I go to the school. If I don't have too much work I can take two schools at once I think... ... Well, atleast the courses seem to go sort of hand in hand, meaning that when I'm at the physics course we'll be going trhough a subject in general while in uni it's more in depth.

Another good news is that apparently a lot of people go to these classes to prep themselves for various entrance exams, so I might even make some new friends with similar goals than I have.

So the plan's on! The classes start 18th of august which gives me plenty of time.

As far as pre prepping goes I'm doing just about fine, just being annoyed in general that I didn't really pay attention when I should've been learning these.

Ps. I'm sort of blaming Martin/orbiter/OF about this... I didn't really care about math/physics before I found orbiter even though I played a lot of simulators, now that I've realised what those can actually do I'm pretty annoyed that I don't understand them. The good thing is that I'm making steady progress and my motivation is still quite high, I'm learning new things every day and that's really satisfying.

Had a nice little problem on the morning coffee this morning.

"A car starting from a stop travels 50 meters in 12 seconds, what is the cars acceleration and final velocity"

At first I thought I couldn't do it but after few sips from the coffee I realised that it's pretty straight forward.

[math] x = v_i t + \frac{1}{2} at^2[/math]

Therefore

[math]50 = 0 \cdot 12 + \frac{a \cdot 12^2}{2}[/math]
[math]50 = 0 + \frac{144a}{2} [/math]
[math]50 = 72a [/math]
[math]a = ~0.69 m/s^2 [/math]

[math] v = v_i + at [/math]
[math] 0 + 0.69 \cdot 12 = 8.28m/s [/math]

Which is roughly 30km/h

Not sure why I'm sharing, but I thought it was a fun problem while doing it.

Hooray, kinematics. Math/Physics problems have a funny way of being disproportionately satisfying to look at once complete, I find. :)
