I have a Futaba T6EXA six channel radio controller that I can connect to my computer. I've tried using it for Orbiter, but as having some problems. When in neutral position, the controls are widely off, yaw miles off to the right (so much so that even with the inbuilt trim fully adjusted, it's still not straight), and similar problems with everything but throttle. I'm wondering is there any easy way to fix this? My joystick doesn't have this problem, but as this is a laptop, and keyboard control isn't really feasible, I'd like to get my radio controller up and running.

As I've said, this is a six-channel radio, and if I can get my first problem sorted, I'm wondering is there any possibility I can get some of my other channels to be detected by Orbiter. For example, I have a gear switch, a flaps switch, a dual-rate Aileron and Elevator switch, and a trainer switch. Is it possible to utilise these functions in Orbiter?

Neat idea. I have a few rc transmitters that I might try. Have you calibrated it via the windows input device control panel?

There should be a calibration option either in the Windows devices section of control panel or in whatever program you might be using to link it with the computer.
Other than that i can't think of a reason.

For the keys, try joyride:

I got my Futaba working a few years ago, but noticed the same misalignment and switched controls at first.

The Futaba radios have many modes in which they can operate. You can choose if you want the left stick to have the throttle control, or the right... in fact, you can switch them around a lot.

On my Futaba, you have to hold the menu buttons while turning in on. Look into your Futaba manual on how to switch yours.

I think you'll be able to align them through the Windows joystick thing...
