Another quali mechanical issue for Hamilton. I just don't get it. He was flying in Q2 (P1 in Q2 by a long way). Park up, change tires, wait for the Q3 session to start, and then engine problems again.

Congrats to RIC. 80% chance the 1-2-3 in quali is the same 1-2-3 tomorrow afternoon.

Niki Lauda said on German TV that both Rosberg and Hamilton had a fuel pump problem, but for Rosberg it already occured before he left the garage. Not sure about Hamiltons slow laps before his last fast one, maybe just traffic or a different procedure to warm up the tyres.

Always for the start of Q3, right? Whatever ultra-fast Q3 mode they try to load is just messing with the cars.

It looked like Hamilton had fuel loaded for the whole Q3 session, so when they sent him out, he had to burn down the fuel for 3-4 laps to get it light enough. Then his tires would have been less than optimal. What a mess all round. Just not what I expect from Mercedes AMG precision engineering.

Your opinion will probably change after seeing it....

As I saw on Facebook today, Red Bull may give you wings, but not tyres! What a calamity!

Lewis obviously happy and taking the victory, but Red Bull could really do without handing them out on a silver platter to Mercedes.... particularly with Canada up next.

Great result for Force India and Sergio Perez though.

One of the more exciting Monaco GP's! It's usually just a parade for 78 laps, but with the rain and the different tire strategies today, things were really mixed up. Got to feel bad for RIC with the tire SNAFU, but I'm sure HAM will take a slice of luck for a change.

That's why I love this "track". Unforgiving and brutal, but never boring. Even if it looks like a parade sometimes. It just makes lap times and tactics even more crucial. Did I mention it's unforgiving?

I agree, an exciting race. These glitches are taking some of the shine off the Silver Arrows. The usually perfect Red Bull pit crew was FUBAR! Clearly the Renault/TAG-Heuer upgrades brought the heat. The real question is what's happened to Ferrari? Weren't they supposed to step up when Mercedes slipped up?
