I've been messing around with orbiter for about 2 months now and just started to get into working with addons.

My first project has been to expand Olympus and Brighton Beach as per AR81's excellent tutorial as a way to learn my way around the orbiter *.cfg files.

[ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2733"]Tutorial: How to create surface bases[/ame]

My question is this:

Is there a way to access a list of (or view) all available Generic Base Objects/Textures, and ist there a list anywhere of available commands/functions in the "Base-name".cfg file?

Thanks in advance.

Re: your first question - [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=5007"]OpenGL Orbiter Mesh Viewer 1.1[/ame]
Re: the 2nd part - sorry, haven't got the slightest.

I believe [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=2796"]Surface base wizard 1.3b[/ame] will list all objects, as well as display, position and modify them in a graphical manner.

Happy Orbiting

Certainly will do. I've used to to expand WHAP's rather awesome Ascension Island base.

Thanks for the pointer.

I assume from your post you are just working with default blocks and hangars and such in the base cfg file, hence why you want to know about the generic textures...

So, if the standard bunch of generic textures become a bit samey for you, you will find a few more in the Wideawake International package. If you do get them just make sure you read my manual, so that you activate them properly for you to use on any base.

I don't know what your plans are, but if you want to do some art/graphical work in your dev, the default textures are a great place to start doing your own. You can add whatever new ones you want for use on the generic blocks and such, so it's a good intro to simple texturing.

good luck.
