A few years ago I decided to try my hand at addon developing, trying out different ideas and such, just as a pet project.

What I ended up with was a small single person, single use emergency reentry capsule. I designed it specifically to fit inside the XR2 payload bay with the CHM and only gave it enough fuel to return from the ISS.
I gave it a sequenced reentry procedure with a small drogue chute opening first followed my a large parachute (although its not evident on the picture). The .dll however was coded for 2006 and kicks up a few obsolete functions in 2010.

While I found I was fairly good at coding, my textures left much to be desired so don't judge it too hard.

Before I get back into working on the project I was wondering what people thought. Some feedback essentially. Is there something I should design differently on it? Is it even realistic?

Also, I really fall short in the textures department and have very little knowledge on creating them. What programs do people prefer to use?

Paint.NET is a common program for editing textures.
I use a tag team of Sketchup and Wings3D for my mesh creation, although I have also used SolidWorks to varying degrees of success.
