I was having trouble deciding on which of these to use. It will be my first time using a CMS, so Joomla seems easiest to learn. I heard however that Drupal is easiest to learn if you have no past experience. So far these are the pro's and con's I have thought of.

Drupal:
PRO
More in depth customization
huge community to help
suits my needs perfectly
Generally able to do alot
CONS
Could be hard to learn
Possibly TOO much for what I need

Joomla:
PROS
Very easy-looking to learn
Has most of what I need
Is not over complicated
CONS
Maybe over simplistic
Not enough room for expansion

Are there any users of either of these who would like to advocate for the program? I'm leaning towards Drupal, but was wondering how Joomla is.

The correct answer is WordPress.

I haven't worked with Drupal, but I have worked with Joomla and I can tell you that altering or creating a template for it is a real pain. Also, the back end admin menu system isn't as intuitive as the one in WordPress is. Also I noticed some weird problems with Joomla's text entry box, while WordPress's works just fine.

If you create "Pages" in WordPress (instead of or in addition to ordinary blog postings) you can basically make an entire website. There are tons of plugins and templates available as well. Some of the plugins I use are:

"My Page Order" (a simple drag and drop interface to set the sort order of your pages)

"cForms" (a very detailed yet easy to understand form builder, if you need that)

"All in One SEO Pack" (integrated SEO features)

I have built several professional websites this way and I've found it to be a great way to get a quality site up and running quickly, while at the same time giving the site owner a lot of flexibility and an easy to use interface for editing their site.

Thanks for the input- I hadn't even considered wordpress
